The
Product Development Brief Game
is a 36-field intake
built to translate a founder's intention
into a document a lab can read.
It is the same brief Luciana fills out
in the first half-hour
with every new client
What is the LULUBLE Product Development Brief System?
It’s a structured, lab-native spreadsheet and playbook that turns your product idea into a complete R&D brief: market and margin constraints, pH, viscosity, sensorial targets, ingredient standards, packaging fit, testing and evidence mapping, and a deliverable checklist, so an R&D lab can execute without interpretation or drift.
The enemy is not your lab
It’s the outdated beauty development paradigm
The modern beauty industry runs on half-briefs, vague targets, and “we assumed…” decisions.
That creates decision drag internally and drift externally. Your concept degrades across handoffs until you’re funding a product you never intended to build.
In 2026, buyers and regulators reward proof, not aesthetics: your brief is your leverage.
What vague briefs destroy:
Drift: texture/finish changes without warning
Packaging betrayal: compatibility failures late
Claims collapse: no evidence mapping
Margin erosion: cost pressure forces substitutions
The phrases that signal you have lost control at the brief stage are small.
It is "we'll figure it out in development."
It is "the lab will know what we mean."
It is "we don't need to specify that yet."
It is "let's get a prototype and see how it feels."
By the time you hear those sentences, the lab has already started filling in your blanks with what is easiest for them to make
The prototype you receive is the prototype they designed, not the one you intended.
If you don’t control the brief,
you don’t control the product
Most founders think the formula is the asset. In reality, the asset is the brief.
A formula is a chemistry artifact. A brief is the decision system that defines what the chemistry has to be: identity, market constraints, ingredient standards, packaging fit, claims defensibility, testing planning, and the rules of change.
Without that system, the lab fills gaps with assumptions, procurement pushes swaps, marketing writes copy the proof plan cannot defend, and your team cannot align on what "good" means because nobody wrote the definition down.
The cost of "we discussed it" is the same as the cost of "we did not specify it."
The PD Brief Template is designed to sit on the founder's side of the table as the Master Formulator's proxy:

1
Video Training
Judith, Luciana’s digital twin (her AI avatar), performs a walkthrough showing you how to use the game template as your warm-up, how to complete the Ultimate Brief, and how to deliver it to a lab so the project stays inside your control space.
2
Product Development Brief Game
A lightweight, guided “game” that teaches you the language of professional product development through a short workflow of prompts.
As you answer, an auto-table builds your first structured brief - fast!
This is your on-ramp: it reduces overwhelm, prevents vague inputs, and prepares you to complete the Ultimate Brief with clarity instead of guesswork
3
The Playbook (Reference Guide)
A field-by-field guide explaining what each parameter means, why it matters, how labs interpret it, and what breaks when it’s missing
Written for founders entering the beauty industry without sacrificing scientific rigor.
4
The Product Development Brief
(Full Spreadsheet Template)
The full founder-grade system that forces the right decisions in the right order: identity, market, specs, ingredient strategy, packaging, claims/evidence, testing, and risk.
Includes a Brief Export page you can hand to any R&D lab as the source of truth.
5
Founder Decision Tools (Built-In)
Risk flags, red-line ingredient standards, claims, evidence mapping structure, testing planning prompts, and “stop-the-line” rules for scope changes, so you don’t get trapped in late-stage revisions and catastrophic substitutions.
Install a control system before you pay for prototypes
The LULUBLE Product Development Brief Template gives your R&D lab a complete, executable blueprint and gives you a governance structure to keep the product on-spec as it evolves.
It replaces interpretation with defined targets, and replaces “maybe” with method-controlled decisions.
This is how founders become sovereign: not by learning chemistry overnight, but by using the right architecture.
Who is this for?
Founder / Brand Owner:
You need speed, control, and fewer expensive prototype loops.Brand Manager / Innovation Lead:
You need a repeatable intake system and a brief vendors can’t misread.R&D Lab Partner / Cosmetic Scientist:
You want clarity, constraints, and fewer ambiguous revision cycles.Regulatory / Claims / Compliance:
You need evidence mapping and documentation discipline up front.
FAQs
Designed for topical formulations developed in an R&D lab (creams, lotions, gels, serums, balms). The structure generalizes across categories because it governs identity, specs, packaging constraints, evidence mapping, and testing regardless of aesthetic positioning.
Is this only for skincare?
1
No. It replaces ambiguity. You still need a qualified lab/scientist to develop the formula, but this brief ensures they build the correct product within your constraints and prevents drift, scope creep, and undocumented substitutions.
Will this replace hiring a cosmetic scientist?
2
That’s totally normal. The template is built to help you start thinking about these specs and to have a conversation with a cosmetic scientist about it. The key is to define the target identity and decision rules early, so iteration stays inside your control space.
What if I don’t know specs like pH/viscosity yet?
3
Yes. The PD Brief retrofits existing products as well as it launches new ones. Founders who already have a prototype use the Brief to retroactively name the architecture the lab never made them write down: the identity targets that were assumed, the claims that need evidence, the packaging decisions still open, the testing plan that was deferred.
Once the Brief is filled, every future revision is governed against it and the next product launches faster because the architecture is already documented.
If you have a stable prototype and the next step is scale, the Lab to Market Strategy is the layer that comes next. If a CMO is already quoting, the Tech Transfer Dossier is the dossier that goes to them.
I already have a prototype. Is the PD Brief still relevant?
4
The Playbook is structured so you can read the entire translation layer in a focused weekend. The Workbook is filled progressively across the development cycle: each tab is sequenced to the moment in the project where its decisions become operational. Most founders implement the full Strategy across a 6–12 week development window. None of it is meant to be read in one sitting. All of it is meant to be carried into rooms where it does the work.
How long does the PD Brief take to implement?
5
You receive immediate access to all components inside the LULUBLE Academy. The Video Training, Playbook, PD Brief Interactive Game (now gated), Full Template and build in Tools unlock in sequence, so the architecture is metabolized in the order Luciana would teach it inside her office.
What happens after I purchase?
6
Your access to the full Lab to Market Strategy environment is 12 (twelve) months from the date of purchase. During that period you build your work inside it: your filled brief, your completed workbook, your vendor scorecards, your stability protocols, your handoff packs and you download each artifact to your own computer and/or your own cloud as you go. LULUBLE Academy hosts the teaching environment, not your work. Your files live on your machine, and/or in your cloud, under your control. After the twelve-month access window closes, the teaching environment expires; your downloaded artifacts belongs to you in your computer/cloud environment.
How long do I have access to the teaching environment?

Stop paying for chaos
In 2026, your advantage isn’t a moodboard whether you’re launching your first product or optimizing your tenth.
Your advantage is sovereign architecture: a brief that makes lab work cleaner, decisions faster, and your product materially harder to compromise.
This is the scientist-at-the-table system: installed once, used forever.
